REHA, Raul Hernandez, was born in Havana City, Cuba. At age twelve, he joined the Musical Group "Menique", directed by María Alvarez Ríos y Nora García. The group performs in theatres, concert halls, amphitheatres in Havana, and Saturdays live on ICRT (Instituto Cubano de Radio y Television). He studies music at the National School of Arts Teaching (ENIA) and studies the drums. He accompanies on drums for soloists : Malena Burkes, Pancho Céspedes (Cuban variety), Angel Quintero (Nueva Trova) and latin jazz bands, A Tempo (Guicho Rodríguez), Perspectivo (Hilario Durán, Jorge Reyes, Jorge Luis Chicoy... musicians of Arturo Sandoval), Jane Brunet. He goes to Mexico, to France, and to Spain and takes part to jazz festivals in Jamaica, in Barbados, in Panama, in Curaçao as well as in London. In Salsa-Timba, he plays for Pachito Alonso, la Timba Cubana, Lady Salsa. He composes and writes songs for the bands: Perspectiva (Alb.Buscando cuerdas, "Raúl is Tumbao"), Pachito Alonso (Alb.Una Salsa en París, "La tuve tan cerca"), Bamboleo (Alb.Te gusto o te caigo bien, "Extraña sensación" "Te extranaré), La Charanga Habanera (Alb.Pa que se entere la Habana, "la superturística"), Anacaona (Alb.Como un milagro, "No te quedes sentado" arrangements "Dame Amor"), P18 (Alb.Electrópica "Entre sol y palmeras"), The soundtrack of the TV Serie "Commissariat Bastille" [Bastille Police Station], Orlando Poleo (Alb.Cúrate, "La clave y el bongo"). In France, he plays with Sabor a son (Fino Gómez, Miguel Gómez, Joël Hierresuelo, Carlos Miguel Hernández...), the group P18 of Thomas Darnal (keyboards in La Mano Negra) for several world tours, Victor Lazlo (Loin de Paname - Live), Paris Salsa All Stars (Raúl Paz, Azuquita, Alfredo Rodríguez, Felipe Cabrera, Orlando Poleo, Bobby Rangell), Elvita Delgado Band (Julio Font, Sebastien Jiménez), Labana, Fiesta Cubana, Solside, Madinveda… From time to time, he plays with Julien Lourau, Lou Bega, William Vivanco, David Linx, Africando, Miguel Gómez Quintet. Carried by his experimental musical project, mixing the

Afro-Cuban rythms and genres with the musical influences of his travels, he is being supported by the SACEM and creates, with "Canal93 Bobigny Musiques Actuelles", an original musical show : Rythms and Grooves of Cuba ("Rythmes et Groove de Cuba").

For REHA, the groove is the heart that gives the vital pulse to music, and this is where all the songs and sounds of his show take their origins from.

His style, that can be considered "Alternative Cuban Groove" comes true in his 2007 album "Sentimientos y Grietas", produced by ClicPlanet Production, an independent french label, and distributed by Believe Digital with intention of worldwide sale.

Among the musicians and friends that participate on the album, we acknowledge Alfredo Rodriguez, Felix Toca, Fránklin Veloz, Bobby Rangell, Felipe Cabrera, Luis Orlando Manreza, Miguel Puntilla Ríos... The song "Havana City" has been chose for the compilation "Fnac new Talents" in the fall of 2007.

Live, REHA adapts his original work and follows the path of a traditionnal Cuban show. The traditional Cuban music and danses are performed on stage and are part of the intense interaction between the audience and the group. Every piece honors a Cuban genre : cha cha cha, guajira, afro, comparsa, rumba cubana... and the associated dances. A dancer, José Luis Alvarez López (Lurbano) shows the moves of the traditional dances. Other musical genres fuse with this traditional base to create an alternative Cuban Groove.
